For the three body styles planned, they designed a tube frame that has all the grace of a GP-replica motorcycle’s aluminium frame. The floors and bulkheads are made from aluminium honeycomb. Finally the three distinct bodies are made in glasfibre. One of the three versions of the micro AZ550 Sports prototypes shown at the 1989 Tokyo show led to a production vehicle, the AZ-1, a sports projectile designed within Japan's micro laws at that time (maximum length 126 inches (320 cm), maximum engine capacity 550cc.
